Part 10 - Intro: What Should Catholics Do?

Introduction

After examining the doctrinal, liturgical and ecclesiological crisis, the final question is practical: what should a Catholic actually do? This Part is intended to help readers move from investigation to faithful Catholic living without fear, anger or confusion.

We will consider how to study Vatican II responsibly, how to respond if one becomes convinced that certain post-conciliar teachings contradict Catholic tradition, how to find reliable clergy and valid sacraments, where to attend Mass, and how to deal with questions concerning Baptism, Confirmation, Marriage and Confession. We will also address family responsibilities, how to explain the crisis to others, and how to remain spiritually grounded when access to traditional clergy is limited.

The main conclusion of this Part is that the purpose of understanding the crisis is not to become preoccupied with controversy, but to preserve the Catholic Faith, remain in the state of grace, fulfil one’s duties and persevere in charity and hope. Doctrine matters because salvation matters.
